Textem wraps Google Messages for web in a lightweight native Mac app. System WebKit handles the web client, while AppKit adds a Dock unread badge, native notifications, menu-bar presence, and keyboard shortcuts.
Separate sessions support multiple Google accounts on macOS 14 and later. Optional message-preview blur, avatar hiding, and hidden notification previews give you control over what is visible on screen. Pairing persists across relaunches, and loading failures surface a reconnecting state and a retry action.
